Centre stage of London theatre

The Savoy’s story begins with the stage. Built to welcome the wealthy travellers who crossed the Atlantic to see Gilbert & Sullivan at the Savoy Theatre, the hotel has always been part of London’s theatrical world. Today, with the West End on its doorstep, guests remain steps from the drama, colour and creativity that define both London and The Savoy.

A London Landmark

At the centre of the capital, The Savoy sits within moments of London’s most storied landmarks — from the river to Covent Garden — yet remains a destination entirely of its own.

A Riverside Icon

A Riverside Icon

In 1899, when London was charging into the modern age, The Savoy was already the city’s first purpose-built luxury hotel, Claude Monet checked in and painted the Thames from his rooms. One of London’s few true riverside hotels, The Savoy still looks out over the same river views Monet captured — it's a river that has always shaped the hotel’s story and its place in the city.

Floristry at The Savoy

The lobby’s dramatic floral sculptures are as recognisable as the black-and-white marble floor. Created in-house by Belinda Bowles and her team, each arrangement is a work of art, shaped — stem by stem — into some of the hotel’s most photographed details on Instagram and in editorial shoots.

At the heart of London

With a 98% recycling rate across the hotel, The Savoy ensures that almost everything used is repurposed or recycled — a practical commitment that reduces waste without affecting quality or the guest experience.
